Bermuda
Buildings in Bermuda are required to have a white roof and be painted in pastel hues. The roofs are designed in such a way to harvest rainwater, which residents then use for their daily water supply.
For many years, I have been to the color relationships between the architecture and the sky. These are abstract representations of that relationship, conveyed through screenprints and paintings.
BERMUDA
Hand-bound book with screen-printed illustrations of Bermudian architecture.
Process
Each print was based on a photograph that I had taken while in Bermuda. The images were printed with custom mixed Speedball ink on Stonehenge paper, using three silkscreen frames and sixteen total stencils. The Bermuda long-tail on the cover was hand-painted.
A Study in Patience
Acrylic painting on canvas, based on a beloved photograph of the Hamilton Princess
Process
I took a photo while on vacation in Bermuda and immediately, I knew I wanted to recreate it as a painting. I began with sketches on paper before translating to paint and canvas. All of the intricate line work was freehanded… Hence, A Study in Patience.
